My Mothers day story

You are amazing!

You are Beautiful Queens and today I am sharing lots of love to you through my words.

Wherever you are

This is YOUR day!

Today I want to share my own little story with you and even why I am such a cheerleader for all Mothers as a Nanny.

My Mama Bear

There she is!

My mama bear.

Isn’t she an angel?

My mum went to heaven a few years back and there isn’t a second that goes by where I don’t miss her.

After suffering breast cancer for 10 years she passed away December 2016.

She was the strongest, funniest, quirkiest and most incredible Mother you’d ever come across.

I can only hope that I am even a fraction of her!

Mama, I am here to shout your name from the rooftops!!
You had shown me so much strength in life, and are still teaching me things now. As a woman, you taught me to cherish myself and to show support and love to other women.

No one could have handled your struggle with such unending courage and strength the way you did. I am going to grab my life by the balls and make you so proud!!

Her Story

My Mum is magic!

My Brother and I are everything to her.

She used to tell me before she had us that she would look out her window at night, into the stars and wish for a baby boy and a baby girl. She told me this with such a sparkle in her eyes!

When I was very little she used to work in a nursery, maybe this is why I have such a fascination to work with children!

I won’t get into my Father story too much but I will just say that he wasn’t in our lives for long.

So my Mother handled everything and I mean everything!

She took on SO much and even now I haven’t a clue how she did it.

She became my lifelong best friend and soul sister.

Each night before she went to sleep, she would write the most amazing poems in her diary. I now carry them around the world with me so that I always have a little bit of her with me.

Dancing nights

Almost every night after school, we would pop on a CD of George Micheals classic’s and just dance together.

It makes me smile now to think we were so happy together.

She always had lots of struggles in her life which weren’t fair.

But, when I think of her and I dancing together and just being silly, it makes me happy to think I may have helped her through tough times.

A while ago I found really old videos of us dressed up in hats and wearing curtains as some kind of cape and dancing away with not a care in the world how weird we might have looked to good old George!

Even now I am not quite okay without her, but I will be strong and continue to spread her legacy!

Cancer Research

I want to share with you her tribute page, it comes with an optional donation to Cancer research who do the most incredible work. Maybe with your help today we can together stop this happening to other families.

I know so many of you may be busy today, but this would be an amazing and special gift you could give to my story.

Not a penny will go to me, It is all going to help more and more research and support into this horrible disease!

If you feel so wonderfully kind to donate, please click here and if you would like to learn a little about what kind of research the charity do, please click here

Why I write my blog to support Mothers

Quite simply, I would have been so happy if there was anyone else out there supporting my Mother.

Telling her she is fire and fierce and beautiful.

Perhaps maybe if I support you enough, your children might be thankful of Nanny M telling you how special you are.

I know in my heart I write for you because you need it, just as my Mother would have.

Motherhood is not a walk in the park!

There was a lot of things which happened to my Mother which kicked her esteem and God if I could have said these things to her I know it would have made the biggest difference!

We all deserve extra support and love.

Someone on the other end telling you what a kick-ass job you are doing!

Dear Mama,

I hope you are somewhere filled with love and care and everything lovely you deserve.
I miss you with every bit of me.
Not having you here anymore is the hardest thing I will ever do.
You were the most amazing mother and best friend to me. You taught me to see the good in everyone and to be silly and to be strong like silk just like you. You had shown me everlasting strength right to the end.
I am incredibly blessed to have had so many experiences with you, I just wish I’d had more and told you every day just how beautiful you are.
I’m going to be everything you were, I’m going to show the world your love and tell everyone about you in any way I can. I’m going to love and cherish your name forever.

You are my hero

Epic, incredible mother
Thank you with all my heart for everything.

    Hi nannymaryanne
I always read your blogs, they are always interesting and thought provoking.
Mothering Sunday, well it took thought provoking to a whole new level.
I read a few blogs on subjects that are relevant to me it keeps my world up to speed, some are interesting journals of being both useful yet personal.
I hope you don’t mind me sharing a
    Mothers Day memory with you?
On the first Mothers Day without my Mother the date concided with the first
anniversary of her death, despite my age
(not telling) I was like a kid, super excited.(we were going to visit Mum )
Buying flowers, and vases filling the car with with wash clothes, bottled water for the flowers and for cleaning the stone a bottle of of her perfume all sorts of
paraphernalia and believe it or not,my mad crazy wonderful sister had even brought garden shears to trim the grass around the stone so that we could tidy up”her garden”
My sister and I spent ages washing the stone a little squirt of her perfume all around, sorting the flowers then sitting on the grass ( we are in Scotland,March/April is not usually that spring like) chatting, the three of us,Mum,my sister and I, just like any other time around the kitchen table.
Thank you for letting me share that memory and thank you from and to, all the Mothers and invisible Mothers (care givers) who each day take a deep breath and find the energy to smile and give support
Lots of love Mary M 🙋
